AAP ‘army’ to guard Ghulam Ali gig
Raising the BJP’s familiar war cry of “pseudo-secularism”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the Dadri lynching incident as “sad and unwelcome” but accused the opposition of engaging in the “politics of polarisation” by raising issues that his government had nothing to do with.
On the recent Dadri lynching case, where a Muslim man was lynched over rumours of cow slaughter and consumption of beef in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri, the senior minister said that this is not the first time when such incident is happening, such incidents happened earlier also. He had also whole-heartedly supported President Pranab Mukherjee’s call to maintain India’s core values of tolerance and mutual respect.
Warning that the Shiv Sena will never allow the concert to take place, the party’s Delhi unit chief Om Dutt Sharma said, “We criticise the Delhi government’s decision to host Ghulam Ali in Delhi”.
He has said that such attempts are being made only by those parties who have always treated minorities like vote-banks and do not want these groups to see real development. “This dispute can be resolved through consultations (Aalaap-alochonar madhyom-e ei bitorker niroshon shombhob)”, he said.
Prime Minister Modi had severely been criticised by the opposition for not speaking up on the incidents, while members of his party often made inflammatory remarks. “This is a matter of country’s unity, then how can the Prime Minister speak over this after delay?” He is known all over the world for his involvement in Godhra and Ahmedabad… An indication of the Sena mellowing down is that it did not disrupt the book release function of Kasuri, after blackening the face of the organiser, Sudheendra Kulkarni. “Modi is suffering from selective amnesia”.
In the interview, Modi additionally stated that his authorities had nothing to do with both of the incidents. “The opposition accuses BJP of communal politics everytime but actually they are the ones indulging in it”. What is his locus standii apart from being an RSS activist and having the Prime Minister’s ears?
India’s Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has finally responded to mounting criticism of his deafening silence over the antics of Hindu extremists – his key constituency – over the past few weeks.
The event was already scheduled by a prominent Hindi newspaper and the government has now joined hands with the daily to ensure that it is held, said sources.
