Land Rover recalls 65000 SUVs in United States for door latch problem
In a filing with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the British automaker, owned by India’s Tata Motors, said that the problem is because of a software glitch in the keyless entry system.
Certain 2013 to 2016 Range Rover and 2014 to 2016 Range Rover Sport models are affected by the issue, which can lead to the doors opening inadvertently while the vehicle is in motion.
“Customers have reported the door is unlatched when in the closed position and no indication provided of an unlatched condition”. NHTSA also says that the unlocking of the door could be enough to distract drivers and increase the risk of an accident. For details about the Land Rover panoramic roof recall, refer to recall number P065, and for questions about the Land Rover door latch recall, refer to recall number P068. “The insufficient bond may result in the panoramic roof assembly detaching from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash”, the agency continued.
GM hasn’t made the Hummer since the 2010 model, but it still honors warranties. The adhesive and primer used to attach the affected sunroofs to the LR4 roof can weaken, causing excessive noise and water leakage.
