Turn iPhone 6s Live Photos Into Shareable GIFs: Here’s How
We called the iPhone 6s Apple’s biggest iPhone update ever in our in-depth iPhone 6s review, and it also happens to be the most powerful smartphone on the market today.
“The link between Priime and Live GIF is that it’s the start of us starting to explore things like 3D Touch for better control for editing photos”, says Chang.
Live GIF is the first app of its kind and lets any iPhone 6s or 6s Plus user turn their Live Photos in to GIFs which can then be shared by MMS, email, or shared on social media.
When the icon is yellow, it means that every photo you’ll snap from that point onwards will be a live one.
The cool part is that Live GIF lets you easily send live photos (in GIF form) to those without a newer iPhone.
The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus allow users to create Live Photos, which capture an additional 3 seconds of video around a still image and play it back when a user 3D Touches the photo.
Using Live GIF is intuitive and extremely user friendly. After opening, you’ll be greeted with all of the Live Photos on your device. While “sharing Live Photos” can not exactly be listed as a problem, per se, it is one issue that 6s owners have been complaining about since day one: There’s no easy way to share a Live Photo with someone who doesn’t have an iPhone 6s or an iPhone 6s Plus. You’ll need to pick the one you’d like to convert and then select to share as a video or GIF.
If you own an iPhone 6s or an iPhone 6s Plus, Live GIF is the app you’ve been waiting for. Once the GIF (or.mov file) is created, options of sharing it appear on the screen: “Share GIF” or “Share video” should appear.
Apple’s new Live Photo feature on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been loved by most. The app is highly recommended. The Live Photos shows 1.5 secs footage of before and after capturing the image.
