It added up to a great gift for a Saturday night. After many many comparisons to the candidate, Larry David took it by stride by literally turning into Bernie for this epic skit. In other words, it was ideal.

David’s similar features, as well as his pretty accurate Brooklyn accent, were a dead ringer for Sanders.

“We’re doomed! We need a revolution!” We’ve got millions of people in the streets. And we gotta do something!

“I’m the only candidate up here who’s not a billionaire”, he said later about being a Washington outsider.

On his outsider status: “I don’t have a Super PAC!” I don’t even have a backpack. I carry my stuff around loose in my arms like a professor between classes. It somehow ended up with an admission of how Bernie Sanders only has one pair of underwear, followed by pondering just where your elbows are supposed to go on a podium.

The episode, hosted by Tracy Morgan, included a “30 Rock” reunion with Baldwin, Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski.

“No. I’m Brian Fellows!” he said. “I might actually be a few points higher now”. You have to see this.

Larry David doing a better Bernie Sanders than the real Bernie Sanders on #SNL. His closing line especially got lots of laughs: “I’m Bernie Sanders and come next November, I will be Hillary Clinton’s vice president!”
