Our games in Wales have been hard for us, we didn’t play well last season.
Swansea, meanwhile, have no fitness concerns following the global break and are expected to name a full-strength side.
But boss Mark Hughes admits there is still no imminent first-team return pencilled in for his captain.
Swansea defender Angel Rangel has praised Hughes for instilling a new style within the Stoke side and expects a very even game.
After five games without a victory in all competitions, Swansea could do with a win.
However, Hughes is in buoyant mood in terms of his team’s current form, having seen them pull off their first two league wins of the 2015-16 season in their last two games. The Potters have just registered successive league wins over Bournemouth and Aston Villa, as well as a League Cup win at Fulham.
Watch Stoke v Swansea on Monday Night Football.
They concluded the campaign in ninth place in the Barclays Premier League, equalling their record-high finish they had achieved under Hughes a year earlier, and with a best-ever points haul of 54.
Swansea have Kyle Naughton back after he missed the draw with Spurs because of the birth of daughter Olive, while Montero and Ki are being assessed after their hectic global breaks.
Other absentees for the game are striker Mame Biram Diouf, who is away on compassionate leave following the death of his mother, and goalkeeper Shay Given after he picked up an injury on worldwide duty with Republic of Ireland.
“You need all that to change vision and it takes time, but they’ve done that exceptionally well at Stoke”.
The last match between the two sides ended with the Swans winning 2-0.
