“Cubs Thunder” Part of Lost Bet at Six Flags St. Louis
It will be called “Cubs Thunder” for the remainder of the 2015 season.
If the Mets win, however, the Gurnee park will rename the famed Goliath roller coaster to “GoMets” and change the name of the park to “Six Flags Great Mets”.
In addition to the re-naming, the St. Louis park had to deliver a few famous BBQ sauce, pork steaks and toasted ravioli to the Chicago park on Friday, October 16, Fox 2 reported.
So now St. Louis has a ride with a new name: Cubs Thunder.
Before the St. Louis Cardinals took on the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS, the Six Flags amusement park in St. Louis issued a bold proclamation that they would soon regret. “Congratulations to the @Cubs and good luck in the #NLCS!”
According to Great America spokeswoman Katy Enrique, counterparts at the two parks arrived upon a wager after fate decreed the first postseason matchup between the Cubs and Cardinals. Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
