Legacy characters to return in Jurassic World 2?
After hitting the $1.6 billion’ mark, and making it to one of the top three biggest blockbusters of all time, a sequel to the reboot “Jurassic World” was announced shortly after the first installment hit the big screens.
Bryce Dallas Howard has shared a few ideas for Jurassic World 2, including the return of classic characters like Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum).
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, written by Colin Trevorrow & Derek Connolly and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Jason Schwartzman, Omar SY, Irrfan Khan, BD Wong, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, Jurassic World hit theaters June 12th, 2015. I should just say all of them.
It’s the moment from Jurassic World that either convinced you that Colin Trevorrow’s film would be the coolest movie ever, or that this whole franchise had gone completely insane.
Although that is not an official confirmation that any of the original characters would return, Howard also said that it would be interesting to know what the opinions are of the original characters.
“I could see versions of the film where a lot of the characters come back”. He stated, “There never was plans to bring back any of the original trio”.
When it comes to the plot, speculations suggest that it may follow the experimentation that saw the creation of Indominus Rex, an intelligent species that take cues and learns from the threats in its immediate environment.
BD Wong reprised his role of geneticist Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic World and was the only cast member from the original Jurassic Park to return, but it sounds like more might return in the future. “So that was always the mission – however, different all of those movies were”. He was shown leaving Isla Nublar aboard a helicopter with dino embryos.
Fans can expect the Jurassic World sequel to release on June 22, 2018.
