Person shot in Israel bus station attack dies of wounds: hospital
One Israeli citizen was killed in an attack by two suspected Palestinian gunmen in the southern city of Beersheba, an Israeli police spokesman said Sunday.
Police said in a statement that the gunman shot and killed a soldier after entering the bus station, then took the soldier’s weapon and continued the attack. Police said at least one was killed and several were wounded, while the attackers fate was unclear. One terrorist is lifeless & the opposite has-been apprehended, cops officers told the Post.
Footage found on WhatsApp by Israeli police showed a man lying on the floor of the station before a dozen gunshots are heard as people flee the scene.
At least two of the people wounded are in serious condition, according to Haaretz. Palestinians have accused Israel of carrying out “field executions” upon those who’ve stabbed and initiated other attacks on Israelis.
The shooting was the latest in a series of attacks by Palestinians targeting civilians and security forces in Israel and the West Bank in a wave of violence and unrest raising fears of a full-scale Palestinian uprising.
