Flames call up C Granlund, put LW Bouma on IR

The Calgary Flames will be looking to generate more opportunities when they come to town Friday night.

After starting his career slowly, Bouma had a breakout season previous year, scoring 16 goals and adding 18 assists and a plus-10 rating for the Flames last season. The Winnipeg Jets are averaging 3.8 goals per game and are scoring on 33.3 percent of their power plays.

Calgary (1-2-0) could be vulnerable after giving up 11 thus far.

They led 2-1 after the first period but were outscored 3-0 in the second. I think it’s too early to sit here and talk … you talk about that three-month mark, but until you get up and going, it’s probably premature to start talking about definite timetables. Michael Hutchinson has allowed two goals on 62 shots faced and Ondrej Pavelec has given up five goals on 74 shots. 913 set in 2014-15.

The loss will be a tough one for Calgary. The 22-year-old played in 48 regular-season games for the Flames last season and had eight goals and 10 assists.

The Jets are the NHL’s final team to play their first home game.
