Radiohead have finished recording new album, band plans to tour in 2016
Radiohead has been relatively quiet since releasing their 2011 album, “King of Limbs”.
The whole translation incident kicked off when outcome Of Sound reported on a recent interview Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood gave to Russia’s Radio Silver Rain, in which a translator said the muso had revealed Radiohead “have finished the recording of the new album” and have planned a 2016 tour.
“Nice mistranslation going on…what I actually said: lots have been recorded, and we’re about to go through it all to see if it’s any good”. “We hope we’ll get it right soon, and after that we’ll start planning the next year’s tour”. “Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator…”
None of this impressed frontman Thom Yorke, who added, “no IT ain’t finished take responsibility for your writing and check your facts occasionally. alright Jonny?”
Little else is known about the album though Selway has teased the possibility of outside collaborators, which would be a first for the band. He also hinted that the band will hope to tour in 2016.
Radiohead had reportedly been tucked away in a studio for most of September working on the album.
Serving yet again as pioneers in the field of deliberate musical obscurity, Radiohead has employed the natural medium of Russian radio to announce that it’s completed work on its latest album.
