A play later, Fitzpatrick would punish them as he found the space the run the ball home from 18 yards to score a rushing touchdown. This rushing touchdown is his first rushing touchdown since HST at JAX (12/07/14). That changed, as Cousins completed passes for first downs to Jamison Crowder on a screen, Grant on a key third down, and Alfred Morris on a dump off. Two plays later, Pierre Garcon had a great hip fake on Darrelle Revis and hauled in the pass on a slant route to put the Redskins up 7-0. A few of the blame falls on the injuries to the offensive line, but, in my opinion, even more of the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Kirk Cousins and his lack of safety with the ball. Gilchrist finished the game with three tackles, one interception and two passes defensed.

Ivory ran rampant, totaling 146 total yards-half of which came in the second half.

The Jets had just one penalty for five yards called against them all game. And Ivory has a 23 yard catch. This 100+ receiving yard performance is the 37 of his career.

New York is off to a 3-1 start to the season under new head coach Todd Bowles and starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Once again, let’s look beyond the two (very costly) interceptions – just consider the fact he continues to miss both high and behind receivers.

The Redskins defense forced the Jets to also go three and out after managing only three yards. He was asked if the Jets are a decent team. “I don’t care if he plays or not”, the Jets’ cornerback said of the Redskins receiver, who has been sidelined for more than a month by a strained hamstring.

“The way they were pressing us, they tried to keep everything between the tackles”, Jets right guard Willie Colon said. “Now I’m back here and I realize I’m going to have to work for my spot because (Williams) is playing so well”.

The speedster’s presence could create space for the running game, which has struggled lately.
