Yamaha teases its first auto (4Wheeler) ahead of Tokyo premiere – IAB Report
Yamaha Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) will participate in the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 (Organizer: Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc.) to be held at the Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 (Thu.) to November 8 (Sun.) (Preview Day on Oct. 29; General Public Days from Oct. 30). If it follows this year’s motor show theme “Your heart will race”, based on the concept of “Technology + Fantasy”, it’s likely to deliver decent performance. There’s also a chance it’s powered by a motorcycle engine given the “inspired by motorcycles” description.
Yamaha is a formidable name in the world of motorized transport. Created to inspire the younger generation to start riding, the lightweight motorcycle features chrome body work which are complemented by panels made of authentic wood grain which is used in making guitars.
In addition to this, Yamaha will also promote its entire fleet including a possible range of new electric scooters, a new off road multi-wheel recreational vehicle and of course, conventional two wheelers across the range at the Tokyo Motor Show.
We won’t know what powers the new vehicle until it’s revealed at the Tokyo motor show, but given that the Motiv featured an internal combustion engine and the Motiv.e (which was unveiled alongside the Motiv) was electrically powered, there’s scope for the new coupe to mix both drivetrains to form a hybrid layout.
