Bill Nye explains his stance on GMOs
Sharpen your pencils, people – Bill Nye the Science Guy is schooling us about homosexuality and claims that same-sex attraction is unnatural.
David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg are partnering with Producer Seth Gordon (he of Freakonomics and The Goldbergs fame) to “make the definitive film on Bill Nye the Science Guy and his quest to change the world with science”.
The Kickstarter campaign will be up for the next 31 days. “Bill’s show played a huge role in our desire to explore science and technology in our work”, Alvarado and Sussberg explain in their Kickstarter video. That’s right, The Science Guy could be coming to a theater near you-if we all collectively band together to make it happen.
Bill Nye the Science Guy has spent his career informing the young and old alike on scientific issues ranging from climate change to evolution to the future of spaceflight.
“We wanted to know: Who was the man behind the bowtie?”
The project has raised a little more than $6,000 of its $650,000 goal as of the time of this writing. “Or the creationists?” Prizes for donating include a set of Bill Nye-themed emojis, a PDF of Bill’s handwritten notes from his debate with creationist Ken Hamm, and dog bow ties.
Bill responds by citing Desmond Harris’s book The Naked Ape – in which the zoologist described observing homosexual behavior in apes – as proof that homosexuality is not exclusively a human thing and that it’s certainly not detrimental to a species’ survival. Back then, the deal was still pending, so Nye couldn’t reveal any other details about the project. The longtime fans of Nye said Alvarado ran into the science guy at SXSW: “We wondered what his private experience was, as a person, living a life as a celebrity science educator and advocate”.
