National Football League to host public hearing regarding relocation of Chargers
The public meeting will take place on October 28th, at 7 p.m., at the Spreckles Theater.
The league stated the goal of the hearings as a forum for fans and others in the community to ask questions and express their views directly to the NFL before any decision is made about potentially moving the Rams, Chargers or Raiders to LA. The hearings will take place on October 27 (St. Louis), October 28 (San Diego) and October 29 (Oakland).
The public hearing is a league requirement for any city at risk of losing their NFL franchise. All entry passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-season ticket holders can apply for entry on a first-come, first-serve basis. Online pre-registration and a non-transferable confirmation receipt with a valid barcode is required for entry. The registration site is www.nfl.com/stlhearing. Members of Commissioner Roger Goodell’s executive staff will be in attendance at the meetings. Written comments may be submitted to stl.hearing@nfl.com Tuesday through November. 13.
This is yet another signpost indicating the National Football League is dead-set on determining which teams (or teams) will be relocating to Los Angeles for the 2016 Regular Season, and another signal to municipalities (such as San Diego) that it’s time to put your best offer on the table.
In an effort to hear from as many people as possible, the league will allow each fan a three-minute maximum for questions or comments. The Paramount Theatre is located at 2025 Broadway in downtown Oakland.
