PS4 Price-Cut May Well Be Inbound For Europe On October 21st
Sony’s winning streak continued last month. Sony is so far ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox One (which itself is still selling admirably) that its share of third party games is enough to make up for a lacking line-up in the final few months of 2015.
Sony also finished No. 1 for software sales in September as well.
“As we kick off the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to thank fans for making PlayStation 4 the best-selling console and #1 in software sales in September”. A Portuguese retailer has also listed a bundle with Destiny The Taken King and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, but priced at €379.
Following price cuts in Japan and North America earlier this month, it seemed like only a matter of time until the PlayStation 4’s price dropped in Europe as well. These numbers may be somewhat skewed to what the actual total sales tallies are, when factoring in comments from Sony that claim September was the highest grossing month in history for the PlayStation Store. It’s pretty safe to say this is nearly certainly happening.
Microsoft has sold the Xbox One, sans the Kinect unit, at $349 since January of this year, compared to its hefty $499 price at launch.
The company has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 outsold its Xbox One and Wii U competition in the US last month, according to data from industry-tracking firm The NPD Group.
