HP Launches Refreshed Chromebooks With Improved Hardware
The company puts out a new Chromebook every year and announces it in the fall just in time for it to be out before the holiday season.
Chrome OS keeps getting more capable, and HP is promising more portability and more color from its new Chromebook 14.
Chromebook 14 is the newest offering of HP, where it features soft colors of the chassis.
Tech Times reports that HP wants to “make a splash”, and this is visible with the sky blue colorway of the Chromebook 14 as its blue interior and white lid “jumps out at you”. Also, it would be available in a silver design called “Turbo Silver”.
HP Chromebook 14 has a 14 inch diagonal optional full HD IPS display with a 1366×768 pixel resolution, under the hood there’s an Intel Celeron N2840 processor with 2GB RAM and up to 32GB of onboard storage. In turn this machine measures a mere 17.8mm thick while weighting in at 3.94 pounds, pretty spiffy for a 14-inch notebook.
Customers will get plenty of ports to enjoy great connectivity with one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and a micro SD card reader.
Building on the success of its previous generation Chromebooks™, the HP Chromebook 14 is created to bring remarkable experiences to customers.
Beyond hardware, HP’s Chromebook packs Google’s usual offer of 100GB free Drive storage for two years. In addition, the customers will receive three free Google Play movie rentals and 90 days of free Google Play music.
HP says it will also offer a Turbo Silver Chromebook 14 G4 model for education and enterprises.
The good news is the latest HP Chromebook 14 is reasonably cheap, with a starting price of $250.
This special model comes with built-in features such as multi-layered security, console-level management and enhanced virtualization and VPN connectivity for the workplace and classroom. It is the first Chromebook to be verified for Citrix® Receiver 1.8 for Chrome, enabling access to applications, desktops and data easily and securely.
The HP Chromebook 14 G4 will arrive a little earlier than its consumer counterpart this October starting at $279 (about £180, AU$383).
