Trevor Noah Addresses Apple Backlash With ‘Steve Jobs’ Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin
Steve Jobs launches today in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles and will see a slow rollout to more select theaters in places like Toronto and Boston on October 16. It can be said to be a version of “A Christmas Carol” from writer Aaron Sorkin with Jobs being portrayed as Scrooge.
The film, which focuses on three crucial launches in Jobs’ distinguished career in the context of personal relationships with family and colleagues.
“Steve Jobs”, which comes in at 2 hours and 2 minutes, takes you on a very interesting journey into this hi-tech world that many of us take for granted now. Sir Jonathan Ive, Apple’s design guru, has accused the director Danny Boyle of hijacking Steve Jobs’ legacy with his new biopic of the technology giant’s founder.
Boyle said that he had no idea who Fassbender was during an early scene.
The objective of the movie “Steve Jobs” is to paint portraits of the person behind Steve Jobs.
The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team. I loved her performance and she is the heart and soul of this movie. Jobs is mostly remembered for his dynamic personality, which he often put on display at Apple events when it rolled out new iPhones and other gadgets.
When introducing the film, Sorkin referenced its move to Universal from Sony, which was undergoing a sizable email hack at the time. Isaacson’s book was written with help from Jobs, but he made it a point of not interfering in the way his story was being told, because he wanted it to be told as objectively as possible.
“The thing with Sorkin’s dialogue is, if it’s 1 percent off – how you’re doing it, the rhythm of it – the whole thing is dogsh–“, said Seth Rogen, who plays Steve Wozniak.
Fassbender gave a flat response in return, saying, “Thanks, I appreciate that”, according to Sorkin. I just can’t fathom it. “I think Steve Jobs invented something that he needed, whether he knew it or not”.
