Is Reese Witherspoon in the Oscar Race for Wild?

Wild will hit the big screens on December 5, Friday. The Us Weekly Film Critic as well as the deputy editor Mara Reinstein has given her review on Wild from the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.

There are many reasons to appreciate the movie, which is a beautifully-filmed adventure-drama. The absorbing movie had its premiere on September 8, 2014 at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie does not carry the usual emotional punches of the bestselling memoir of Cheryl Strayed. Despite of that, “Wild” is an inspiring story reflecting perseverance.

Reese Witherspoon has not come up with any such role for some time. The last such movie was “Walk the Line” released in 2005. Reese is poised for a mini-return with her powerful, vanity-free turn as the writer. The first appearance which Cheryl sports is at the peak of the cliff in the heat-drenched California wilderness. She sports a makeup-less and dirty appearance. While staring down her bloody toenails, Cheryl in an angry mood chucks one of her unfitting hiking boots off the cliff.

The question remains how did she reach there and what incited her to go Wild. The girl evokes her heart wrecking past through non-linear, crafty flashbacks. The fact is she was brought up by an adorable mom who recently passed away succumbing to the deadly cancer. Her wedding went kaput due to her numerous relations with other men. Her bro also checked out. Thus, she sets off to hike the Pacific Coast Trail all alone in need of a new beginning. At the end audiences may not share her joy of accomplishing her trek. It seems that Cheryl is a character that perfectly fit in being a true trailblazer, and her bravery and resilience mark her strong-willed personality.

To conclude, ‘Wild’ has garnered positive review from critics and accentuate Reese’s strong acting skill proving her talent.
