Naked man sitting on auto on I-95 causes delays in West Haven

A naked man sitting on the roof of his auto in the middle of Interstate 95 in Connecticut during rush hour caused extensive traffic delays Tuesday as gawkers rolled slowly by the freaky scene, authorities said.

Rubberneckers clogged the morning commute in West Haven and state police closed the highway after receiving a call for medical assistance Tuesday morning.

Both southbound lanes between exits 42 and 41 on I-95 were blocked off after the man was taken into custody, NBC Connecticut reports.

Drivers were able to use the right-hand shoulder, some of them using their cell phone cameras to film that man sitting naked atop his auto.

State Police spokeswoman Trooper First Class Kelly Grant confirmed in an email that troopers were responding to a report of the naked man, who was not immediately identified. He received medical attention and is not facing charges.
