Daily Fantasy Football: Carson Palmer and Todd Gurley are must-starts in
Martavis Bryant turned in several big plays in his first game back. It’s always a paradise here, but it pains me to say that we are already in week 7 of the National Football League season.
The bearded wonder isn’t going to blow the doors off your fantasy roster each week – even though he’s coming off a great 26-point effort against the Redskins – but Fitzpatrick has been pleasantly consistent this season. On the one hand, the extra week off should help Lacy get fully healthy, but on the other, we’re going to have to wait until Week 8 (at least) to figure out what’s going on here? That’s if you could get him.
Wallace had his best game as a Viking last week, catching eight of his 10 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos and their elite secondary. While normally it’s hard to consider a player back on track after just one great game, but this isn’t a normal situation. Buffalo will not be a walk in the park for this struggling team, but Bortles has had enough success as of late to be on your roster and challenge your starter for a spot in week’s to come. Starks has been somewhat subpar playing behind Eddie Lacy, but with the starter beginning to decline, Starks has gotten a chance.
With Keenan Allen down against the Packers in Week 6, Floyd garnered 12 targets for five receptions and 95 yards, by far his best output of the season.
Cam Newton – QB – Carolina Panthers – 269 yds, 1 TD, 1 rush TD, 2 INTI thought the early MVP candidate was so cold I benched him in two of my leagues. He is a great add in deeper leagues.
Lots of Jags this week. If Yeldon does not get the start, you could get a nice week of production out of the rest of the Jaguars’ backfield, who took over in last week’s game. Don’t forget he could still play this week, which takes the value from his two teammates. LaFell practiced with the Patriots for the first time yesterday which could mean his return is around the corner. He has been involved for two games now in Charles Johnson’s absence and has racked up 13 reception and 216 yards on 19 targets.
Now going up against a Baltimore Ravens defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing receivers in 2015, Brown should be especially favored to light up the score board once again.
With that being said, it’s about time we take a look at this week’s Start’Em Sit’Em. If he continues to get the heavier workload he’s worth starting most weeks.
This kid has been an absolute stud for a very good Arizona team. He saw a season-high 29 snaps and six targets last week, so keep a close eye on him. Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown each had big games from a yardage standpoint, but Floyd remains the only receiver on the team with the speed to stretch the field, as well as the size to be an imposing force in the red zone.
I’m just throwing him in my blog every week for fun! With QB and WR problems, I’m looking for Michael to run like someone is chasing him against their divisional rivals in Week 7. If you have an abundance of receivers, I’d trade someone who’s starting to make room for Bryant.
At a few point, you have to stop fading a guy like Dalton and buy in. This week he takes on an underrated Vikings Defense that will pick him apart.
Pittsburgh Steelers defense: The Steelers defense is trending as the hottest fantasy defense since the waiver wires opened Wednesday, but I am not so sure people should bet so heavily against the Chiefs. Watson won’t change things drastically for you, but as long as Drew Brees is his quarterback, Watson will always have a good chance at succeeding. Make him a top waiver priority heading into nex week. Bryant and Jones must have had a lot of rapport from practice reps this year, because they exploded in the second half. To put that into perspective, only once during Manning’s career did he post a worse single-season fantasy point total: in his rookie year of 1998 (200). With Chip Kelly’s offense more so involving the backfield than hitting receivers downfield, really all of the Eagles’ receivers have been putting up low numbers on the year.
Marshall has scored a touchdown or gone over 100 yards receiving in every game this season. In Week Six, Thomas was targeted the most among all Jaguar options, and seemed to have solid chemistry with sophomore franchise quarterback Blake Bortles.
Jeff Janis, WR, Green Bay Packers (0.9 percent): Ty Montgomery left Sunday’s game with an injury and Davante Adams remained out.
Sleeper of the Week: Antonio GatesAlthough calling the future Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates a sleeper seems a bit unusual, the long-time San Diego Charger shouldn’t be considered consistent until he’s played in more than just two games. I’m a big Teddy Bridgewater fan, and I believe he will continue to improve.
