YouTube Red will give ad-free videos, music & original content for $10/month
They are calling this new service YouTube Red and it will cost you $9.99 a month for unlimited YouTube without any ads. YouTube Red is a membership only service and can be accessed across all your devices and can extend to the new gaming app and soon YouTube Music.
YouTube has also announced that is going to launch YouTube Music app. According to the company the app is created to make music discovery and listening experience much easier.
The world’s biggest video site will also be the start of an original content push called “YouTube Red Original Series”.
Executives of the video-streaming site YouTube announced an ad-free subscription service for $10 that will also include exclusive movies and shows from top YouTubers. The Music app aims to introduce users to new musicians more easily, by immediately aggregating related artists and songs after a user selects an initial song. If you’d like to try out the service free of charge, YouTube will be offering a one-month trial on launch day. With it, members will be able to watch their favorite videos uninterrupted – that’s right, no ads – in addition to several other perks.
The paid YouTube service will be available in the United States starting 28 October, with plans to roll it out worldwide in 2016. Users will have to pay $9.99 a month to benefit from all this (or use extensions). According to a new report, YouTubers who aren’t signing up for YuTube Red, will have their videos hidden from public at Google’s video streaming platform.
Does the first batch appeal to you, or do you think it poses no threat to Netflix, Stan and other established pay-to-view services?
