Mighty No 9 delayed due to going multiplatform; sequel already planned
In the beginning of August rumors suggested that Mighty No. 9 had been delayed.
According to a report on gamespark.jp, via VG247, Keiji Inafune says that the deadline won’t be missed this time. He promised that the game won’t suffer any more delay, which is the news that everyone was waiting for.
The surprise announcement was made at the 2015 Unreal Fest in Japan earlier this week.
Possibly one of the most successful Kickstarter games, publisher Deep Silver’s and developer Comcept’s “Mighty No. 9” is a game that has been sought after by fans and backers but the developer has delayed the game a couple of times. Inafune also discussed during the lecture his rise to indie and mobile gaming.
Previous delays of the game were apparently caused by the game’s multi-platform development.
If a few of the recent delays and issues with Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 have you down on the project, creator Keiji Inafune would like to calm those concerns. On the other hand, the executive mentioned that if the game does perform well, there are already plans for a sequel ready. Mighty No. 9 is set to release on February 9, 2016. The game is scheduled to be released on February 9 next year in North America and February 12 worldwide next year. Currently, Mighty No. 9 is being developed for: 3DS, Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
