UFC Fight Night 76: “Holohan vs. Smolka” Fight Picks & Predictions
After starting his UFC career 4-0-1, The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes Lightweight victor Parke has dropped back-to-back heartbreaking split decision loses. After losing one half of the co-main event due to injury we all hoped that would be the end of the bad luck. This should be a great fight.
The UFC Fight Night 76 event is set for Dublin, Ireland this coming Saturday, October 24th. That being said, anything can (and does) happen in mixed martial arts. The movement has been lead by the current interim featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, but on that last fight night in Dublin he wasn’t the only Irish star to stir a reaction from the crowd. The young Hawaiian knows what to do with his height too, and it will undo the game Holohan and disappoint the Dublin faithful.
Paddy Holohan against Louis Smolka is now the main event of the night, with other hometown fighters such as Cathal Pendred and Aisling Daly also in action. Both Holohan and Smolka have shown flashes of high-end skills, but the big difference is that Smolka has done it against stiffer competition.
Parke may have been trying to save the card, but it can’t be denied that he would most likely benefit more from the opportunity to fight Poirier than the fans would have benefited keeping him on the card.
Welcome to the UFC in 2015. The one finish that Parke has is over a guy that had three fights in the UFC and lost every single one of them.
Will you be going to UFC Dublin?
