Honda City CVT variants to be recalled
The Honda City is now the best-selling C-segment sedan in the country and has been leading the charts ever since its launch in early 2013. Another new addition to its line up was a new 7-step CVT automatic gearbox that is mated only to the petrol engine and is sold in two trim levels. Price of these trims ranges from INR 9.89 lakh to INR 11.50 lakh.
Honda Cars India (HCIL) has chose to voluntarily recall 3,879 units of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) variants of Honda City. The CVT control software will be updated to optimise the Hydraulic Pressure applied to CVT, the company said in a statement.
The recall and updating exercise will be carried out in the coming days. Recalls for its cars by manufacturers like Honda can cause huge inconvenience to the vehicle owners. If you too have purchased City CVT which was manufactured in the said period, you can contact nearby Honda dealership and find out more details.
This is not the first time that Honda Cars India have recalled their cars over faulty safety features.
Moreover, Honda Cars India have also created a micro-site on their website to let customers check if their auto is among the affected by simply putting the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the sedan.
