China’s First Lady May Need To Fire Her Make-up Artist & Here’s Why

Although she has been beautifully turned out throughout the visit, Madame PengLiyuan appeared to have overdone the face powder when she attended a banquet at the Guildhall in London yesterday.

The stylish Ms Peng was photographed with powdery white smears around her forehead, nose and upper lip – to the horrors of fans and fashion critics alike. There was something odd with her foundation.

She is believed to has used loose silica powder, which can create a flawless look but when hit by a camera flash, it bounces enough light and creates this very bad effect.

Meanwhile, her husband Xi also had issues but they were much less conspicuous.

“We’re absolutely delighted Samantha Cameron chose Sophie Hulme as a gift for First Lady Peng Liyuan, and so pleased we are flying the flag for British Design!” said Hulme in a statement.

On Wednesday Kate wore an aubergine lace knee-length dress with a high neck and the previous evening she wore a scarlet gown by Jenny Packham to her inaugural Buckingham Palace state banquet. She accessorized with pearl and diamond drop earrings and brooch.

Kate looked like a prim plum rose in her plum colored lace number with matching plum velvet pumps, while Jackie Chan was a venerable gentleman in white, from the tips of his white patent shoes to his shoulders.

On Wednesday, British prime minister David Cameron entertained Jinping and his wife at his Buckinghamshire country retreat.
