This app hurts Android phones’ performance the most
We look forward to AVG’s quarterly app report so we can be more conscious about which among all the apps on our phone are “killing” or draining its performance.
The sad truth was unearthed by online security company AVG Technologies who have been researching app usage on mobile.
There’s a new king of the apps that utterly destroy the performance on your phone: Snapchat. With the apps that run in the background, Facebook is still tops, with its other service, the Facebook Pages Manager also close to it at third (Google Play Services is the one that got in between them).
The reason it’s having such an effect on your device is because the app uses the phone’s camera, Wi-Fi and data, and Global Positioning System capabilities at the same time. Seeing apps you use on this list doesn’t necessarily mean that you should delete them. Applications should originally improve and not to downplay your smartphone experience. With so many apps to choose from, there is a grave danger that we might overload our devices. One of which is the most data traffic consuming apps, and for this quarter it’s Tumblr. That said, Spotify was the biggest storage taker, followed by the Google Chrome browser. AVG has done a few analysis and identified the worst offenders. The company was able to gather anonymous data from over one million of its AVG Android app users.
The data collected on this list was collected by AVG anonymously using both Android apps AVG Cleaner and AVG AntiVirus from users based in three countries-the United States, the UK, and Australia.
So the next time you download an app, be reminded of these findings.
