CNBC cools off dispute over third debate
Donald Trump said this morning he forced CNBC to keep its upcoming GOP debate to two hours because CNN’s three-hour GOP debate “was too long and people were turning off- who’s going to watch a debate that long?” “I could stand there for 12 hours”.
CNBC had been pushing for a longer debate, with prepared statements scrapped to leave time for more questions.
On Wednesday, debate host CNBC joined the Republican National Committee and campaign representatives to discuss parameters for the October. 28 event in Boulder, Colo.
Yesterday Trump and Carson wrote a letter threatening to boycott the next debate, originally reported by NBC news. As with previous debates on Fox and CNN, there will actually be two debates: the main event between the top-tier candidates and an earlier one with lower-polling candidates.

While a few might scoff, the sad truth is that Trump and Carson are right about the time limit.
In a statement, CNBC said, “Our goal is to host the most substantive debate possible”. Our practice in the past has been to forego opening statements to allow more time to address the critical issues that matter most to the American people. The idea is that renewing broadly shared prosperity and helping the hard-pressed to solve particular problems in their lives will cure much of what ails us.
CNBC had initially referred to as for no opening and shutting statements, which made a few candidates sad as a result of it might take away their greatest probability to converse immediately to voters with out having to be referred to as on to reply to a query.
“I frankly think that it is helpful to have someone who has more extensive experience in government and in leadership roles, serving as the leader of our country”.
STEVE DOOCY: You know, this is all hypothetical because, according to Charles Gasparino, he has tweeted out that his sources inside CNBC say they will cave to Trump and it’s simply based on the fact that they would prefer to have two hours with Trump than three hours without Trump.
Trump’s campaign also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars cumulatively on political strategy firms in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and New York.
“Donald Trump has a big megaphone, and I think that a few of the things he’s said, particularly about Hispanics, will be problematic – certainly for him if he were to go to the next stage – but for whoever our nominee is”, Romney said.
Trump himself has touted the poll numbers, sharing them with fans through his Instagram page showing him almost doubling up Ben Carson.
