Gilmore Girls may get a revival on Netflix
Although the WB/CW originally aired Gilmore Girls, Netflix had firsthand evidence of the show’s enduring popularity, as reruns were a “strong performer” on the streaming service.
We know that there was enthusiasm for a “Gilmore Girls” revival of a few sort, but who actually thought it was going to happen? The best part about this? Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, executive producer Daniel Palladino, have signed on to write the films.
The exciting thing, is that Amy Sherman-Palladino will finally be able to end the show how she’d always intended.
No original cast members have signed on the dotted line just yet, but sources tell TV Line that key players Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are nearly assuredly on board.
And most of Rory’s love interests-Logan, Jess and Dean-are expected to turn up in one form or another.
News of the “Gilmore Girls” revival comes hours after Lauren Graham confirmed she is reuniting with another onscreen daughter, Mae Whitman, whom she starred with in USA drama “Parenthood”.
Gilmore Girls initially ran from 2000 to 2007, garnering a fiercely loyal fan base over the course of its seven seasons on The WB and CW.
Melissa McCarthy and Milo Ventimiglia found initial fame on the show, as well as Guardians Of The Galaxy star Sean Gunn and Agent Carter’s Chad Michael Murray.
“DUDES. I can’t confirm this”. She didn’t get to have a last word in the series, since she exited following a contract dispute with the studio before the series ended, CNN reports. “Nobody here hates each other, which is very important”, she said. “It would have to be honored in a certain way and I think that if you look around, we would all jump in and do it”.
