‘Heroes Reborn’ Spoilers: Episode 7 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In
Carlos says that a group has been paying cops $10,000 a head for anyone with powers. Quentin doesn’t fare much better as he has a reunion with his sister that results in his rather abrupt death and it ends up making the show feel more scripted than usual and blatantly weeding out plots it has no use for. Taylor leaves to save her boyfriend, but not before giving Noah a device that contains Harris.
Fortunately, Ren reminds Miko that every component of Evernow has a real-life counterpart – and the real-life version of the Eternal Fortress is Renautas headquarters.
Miko fights and holds her sword up to Noah. He asks where Hiro Nakamura is and why Erica Kravid has his sword.
Luke (Zachary Levi) calls Joanne, only to get her answering machine, and catches her up on what he did last week (including burning their house down).
Malina finally gets off the truck she hitched a ride on out of Canada after her mentor was killed by Renautas associates.
Miko returns to the real world, now knowing her mission is to save “the Master of Time”.
But oh ho! Miko saw a special symbol on the tower, and remembers that, at least, drawing it for Ren. While Harris is guiding Noah and Quentin into the lab, Miko shows up and assumes they are with him. Hiro is scared to travel back in time because he knows the butterfly effect could stop one event, but set off a disastrous chain reaction in other ways. She can free Hiro who is trapped inside the game though.
Miko and Ren finally meet Noah and Quentin, and the story most definitely does NOT disappoint. In the real world, Ren quickly hides in a shipping container, hoping to sneak into the facility. She breaks down in tears in front of the rows of empty chairs. This isn’t almost as annoying as the Star Wars reference, however, because Emily and Tommy are looking at old comic books at the time, so it makes sense that she would deliberately quote them. Or did she just have to take his place in the cell?
Back at the boat yard, Malina starts shaking a vending machine with her powers to get a candy bar, but bumps into Luke.
Carlos speeds down the road, hoping to rescue his nephew Jose. Carlos loads Dearing into his vehicle and through a few weird plot point, they swab to make sure you are an Evo before you enter. But Malina is still little more than a sketch, and Tommy and Emily basically just wandered around France and played doctor. She shows him an issue of Ninth Wonders. After saving a copy of the footage, she digs through her mother’s office and discovers a copy of Mohinder’s manuscript.
Harris leads Noah and Quentin deeper into Renautas’s research facility. Meanwhile, Miko (Kiki Sukezane) and Ren (Toru Uchikado) are in Evernow, attempting to storm a fortress where they think her father is being kept. In “Game Over“, the only thing that distracts from this sloppy writing is the unbelievably bad writing, most of it having to do with Miko. It turns out this is all part of Luke’s suicide plan, and without giving it a second thought, he fills a backpack with bricks and jumps into the water to drown. Malina deposits Luke on hard land, leaving him confused as to why he’s still alive. Renautas may be transporting supplies and people into the future, after everything is burned up, to start the world all over again on a “clean” slate. Richard said that in order to harness Hiro’s powers, they needed to imprison him in a place without time or space: Evernow.
Noah tells Hiro he needs his help in stopping Erica. It looks like she has truly gone to the dark side, literally and figuratively. Richard reveals that Miko was just a virus programmed by her father and that the real Miko died in a vehicle crash. Harris and several Harris clones step off the elevator, followed by Phoebe Frady. Noah and the others escape into a room with bulletproof glass and lock themselves inside. What do we want to bet they’re siblings? She says that powers come with responsibilities and Tommy has to be willing to answer the call. Tommy, meanwhile, took an impromptu trip to Paris with Emily (Gatlin Green) to help cope with the news that he’s adopted and that the fate of the world is on his shoulders. But what exactly will Noah and Hiro find out about Odessa? Harris and his clones surround Noah and aim guns at him.
The opening of “Game Over” jumps between two torture scenes. Obviously, she can’t just stand by and watch a fellow evo try to end his life. Just at the right moment too because Noah has been found by Harris. Noah realizes that time has frozen around him. This little getaway doesn’t go particularly well though since Tommy’s status as an Evo means he’s marked no matter where he goes and that feeling of unfairness is too much for him. Her motivation: Taylor’s pregnant, presumably with Francis’s child.
Dearing convinces Carlos to trade places with him, so that it looks like Dearing is bringing Carlos into Sunstone as a bounty. Super convenientl though, Dearing as a vial that will fake the scanners outside the building into thinking Carlos has powers.
With that said, let’s recap the latest episode of Heroes Reborn titled “Game Over”… Malina is convinced that it’s a sign and tells Luke that together, she and Tommy are going to save the world. He teleports the tracker to Antartica. Tommy thanks Emily for the pep talk, but Emily suddenly kisses Tommy.
