Joey, Of Country Duo Joey + Rory, Stops Cancer Treatment
The courageous performers will now concentrate on looking after the baby daughter, Indiana, who was born in 2014 with Down syndrome. They also took the calendar off the wall, after receiving a date by the doctors how how long Joey may have. “I’m sorry to have to tell you this…”So we did what you do when the medicine isn’t working, and the doctors are at a loss…and when the ‘statistics” say you can do more chemo, but it will only buy you a little time…”So we don’t have forever”, Rory wrote”.
That’s when Rory said they chose to come back to their home in Tennessee to live out the rest of Joey’s days with her family. In the meantime, Joey and Rory are going to make the best of it, and enjoy what they have with their family. “Joey and I will continue to pray for a miracle”, Rory writes. “We’ve got right now … and that’s enough”.
Joey + Rory won Mainstream Country Duo/Group of the Year, and T. Graham Brown was named Mainstream Country Male Artist of the Year. They would really appreciate it and love it. I’m sending my love and prayers to them as well and hope everything ends well for them.
The heartbreaking news came after she had completely finished a round of chemotherapy that all hoped would permanently eradicate the cancer. They said it was the same cells as before, and it was concerning because the cancer had spread to one of her other organs.
“It is with great regret that we must cancel our November and December Joey + Rory Farmhouse Concert dates effective immediately due to Joey’s health”, a statement posted to Joey + Rory’s website on October 23 reads.
The couple has remained strong in their Christian faith throughout their whole ordeal. “And so we do”.
Even though the couple may not have too much time left to spend together they have started praying for a miracle & are cherishing each day that they spend together more than before.
