Latest Chrome update brings split screen multitasking to iPads
Since the release of iOS 9 a few weeks ago, increasing numbers of applications are beginning to adopt the operating system’s various multitasking features, although Google’s suite of apps have been slow to add support for the features.
Alternatively you could open up both Chrome and Safari at the same time, essentially letting you surf multiple websites side-by-side.
The latest update to Chrome for iPad also brings the Slide Over feature, as well as Picture in Picture.
The Split View feature is best used with the iPad Air 2 and mini 4, as older models don’t allow for using more than one app at the same time.
The Chrome 46 can be installed on your iOS device directly from the Apple Store.
Good news, iPad users: Chrome is about to double the fun on Apple’s tablet.
It’s possible that the feature will be supported on the upcoming iPad Pro too.
Picture in Picture for minimizing videos playing within Chrome to view from other apps including Split View mode – compatible with iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, and iPad mini 2 or later supported. The company promises that those on iOS will be able to shop online more conveniently and securely without needing to keep filling out standard purchase forms.
