Jaguars beat Bills despite epic collapse in London
The Jacksonville Jaguars have not had the start they were likely hoping for coming into their Week 7 matchup against the Buffalo Bills with a 1-5 record.
Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars was more of the same.
“To be able to stay calm and to have a big lead and give it up and be able to come back and score to win the game is huge”, Bortles said.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson (15) reaches out to score a touchdown during the National Football League game between Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London, Sunday, October 25, 2015.
Yet Manuel felt that his turnovers weren’t the crucial factor in a loss that dropped the Bills to 3-4 entering their bye week. His second-quarter fumble on a sack by Aaron Colvin was returned six yards for a score by Jaguars defensive end Chris Clemons – Jacksonville’s first defensive touchdown since 2008.
The Jaguars have looked better this season than they have in recent years, but still have a lot of room for improvement as nearly 90 percent of the team’s players are 24-years-old or younger.
EJ Manuel, who was inconsistent in last week’s 34-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, will start Sunday.
On the next series, Posluszny stepped in front of a pass intended for Chris Hogan, setting up a short Jaguars drive capped by T.J. Yeldon’s 28-yard touchdown run that put the Jags up 27-3 when kicker Jason Myers missed the extra point.
Bortles delivered the winning pass two plays later in the first National Football League game to be streamed live on Yahoo. The Jaguars were the first team since 2011, when the Bills did it against the Broncos, to score defensive touchdowns on consecutive plays. McCoy, who gained 68 yards on 18 carries, took a dump-off pass from Manuel from the Bills 26 to the 1-yard line – but as McCoy spun away from one tackler, safety Johnathan Cyprien put his helmet into the ball and jarred it loose for a turnover that kept the Jaguars ahead 27-16. In the fourth quarter, Dan Carpenter kicked a third field goal before Manuel hit wide receiver Marcus Easley on a 58-yard touchdown pass.
The Bills grabbed the lead on Corey Graham’s 44-yard interception return.
Bortles finished 13 of 29 for 182 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Woods led the team in all three receiving categories.
The Bills are now 0-31 since 2001 when trailing by 24 points or more at any point in a game.
“There’s nobody quitting on this team”.
