Tom Brady’s dad wants Patriots to score 60 against Colts
“I’m saying that about our team, and I’m talking to our doctors and trainers every day”. They’re hoping their speedy youngsters – T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett – and a savvy veteran, Andre Johnson, can perform better against New England’s revamped secondary.
Let’s preview the game and pick a victor. It’s unlikely the Patriots would have had the same 4-0 start with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback. The Patriots’ QB wasn’t talking up the rematch last week. At. All. Just because a guy is on the injury report, whatever he’s listed at, that doesn’t really mean anything. New England also won last week, dominating the Cowboys 30-6. Julian Edelman led in receiving with 120 yards and a touchdown in four receptions.
LeGarrette Blount should get his fair share of carries, but the key will be protecting Brady. Andrew Luck, on the other hand, ranks second to last in the traditional passer rating (65.1).
After this impending beat down, the Patriots will predictably be crucified nationwide for “running up the score” on the other team. They are 4-1 against the spread in the last five matchups, and 17-2-1 against the spread in the last 20 games at Indianapolis.
Regardless of who plays quarterback, the key question in this game will be whether the Colts defense can stop the Patriots. Matt Hasselbeck threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the absence of Andrew Luck. Despite the 3-2 record for the Colts, they still have a -14 points differential. That’s just not going to cut it if they want to get a bye week and home-field advantage for the playoffs.
Frank Gore has to be productive for the Colts to have a chance. The Patriots are in a good position to not only win this game but silence Deflategate critics and the whistleblowing Colts once and for all.
On the flip side, Luck hasn’t played the best ball of his career but he’s still one of the more lethal quarterbacks in the NFL. He has caught at least one pass in all 69 regular season games he’s played in over his career. The game can be watched online through free live stream via the link below. Under that definition, it’s hard to call Colts vs. Patriots a rivalry.
Both the Colts and the Redskins have tough matchups this weekend, and these players could make a huge difference in the outcome in both games.
