Bolingbrook shooting kills 2

Police responded to an active shooter situation around 9:30 a.m.at YcB worldwide Inc., an automotive supply importer located on Veterans Parkway near Remington Boulevard, according to Lt. Carter Larry with the Bolingbrook Police Department.

A lockdown has been lifted at four schools in southwest suburban Bolingbrook after a reported shooting in the village Monday morning. No students were ever in danger, officials said. “Roughly 15 minutes later, Jane Addams Middle School, Independence Elementary School and Oak View Elementary School were placed in soft lockdowns as well”, Randa said in an email”.

As of 11 a.m., the lockdowns were over and classes had resumed, according to a statement on the district’s website. A soft lockdown is where all doors to a school are locked, no one is allowed to enter or leave, but all activity inside the school is allowed to continue.

The lockdowns ended about 10:50 a.m. upon advisement from law enforcement.

The lockdown was at the request of Bolingbrook police only as a precautionary measure.
