Director Peyton Reed In Negotiations To Return For ‘Ant-Man’ Sequel
The box-office performance of Disney and Marvel’s superhero saga “Ant-Man” in that country has been righteous in its own right.
THR broke the news of Reed’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Evangeline Lilly will be playing Hope Van Dyne a.k.a. the Wasp, along with Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym.
The importance of Wasp to the movie is indicated by the fact that for the first time in Marvel’s history, a tiny female superheroine has made it to the title of the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is now scheduled for July 6, 2018 release. The last film was written by Wright and Joe Cornish, with rewrites by Rudd and Adam McKay.
No writers have been set for the sequel.
“It marks one of the first deals surrounding Marvel’s recently dated movies”.
In 2018: “Black Panther” premieres on February 16 followed by “The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” on May 4, and “Ant-Man and the Wasp” on July 6.
Ant-Man went on to earn USA $455 million worldwide.
Marvel also has announced three additional films that are scheduled to release in 2020.
In 2016: “Captain America: Civil War” opens in May 06 followed by “Doctor Strange” in November 04.
