Overnight firing by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba sector
A civilian was killed, three others got injured when Pakistan fired unprovoked in forward areas along global border in Samba Sector of Jammu region.
“The BSF (Border Security Force) effectively retaliated and the exchange of fire continued till 3 a.m. today (Sunday)”, the officer said.
The Border Security Force(BSF) retaliated effectively to the firing by Pakistan Rangers in which a school bus, a private minibus and tractor were also damaged and a few cattle heads killed or injured, security officials said. “Over one dozen villages were targeted by shelling and firing in Samba district”, a police official said, adding that a minibus was also damaged in Pakistan shelling, “but luckily nobody was inside when the vehicle was hit”.
Pakistani Rangers used 82 mm and 81 mm mortar shells to target BSF posts and civilians areas.
In this latest ceasefire violation, two civilians, a lady, Kalasho Devi, and 45 years old Pritam Chand 45, who both are residents of Mawa village in Samba district were injured.
Pakistani Rangers on Saturday resumed unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Defence sources alleged Pakistani troops of violated the ceasefire and targeting 14 Border Outposts (BoPs) and border hamlets in Samba district.
A live mortar was also recovered from a village which was seized by the police.
