Missing UM-Morris student last seen in Alexandria with man she knew
He says Schwendemann and the man may have driven past that house, and finding it could help investigators narrow their search.
Although investigators are not ruling out other scenarios, they have not received information that substantiate that Schwendemann is being held against her will. “We have not received information that would substantiate that Laura left by her own decision and is evading being found”, Wolbersen added.
Laura Schwendemann, an 18-year-old from Starbuck, Minn., was last seen October. 14 at a Holiday Gas Station in Alexandria, Minn., according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Eighteen-year-old Laura Schwendemann, a University of Minnesota-Morris student who has lived in Hancock and Starbuck, was last seen Wednesday, October 14.
The male subject who was with Laura has been identified and investigators have been speaking with him.
Authorities believe the pair drove to several locations in Douglas County and Pope County the night of October 14. Ground searches have been conducted based on supporting information and will continue to be conducted when new information supports it.
Pope County Sheriff Tim Riley said authorities are still asking the community for information as they continue the investigation. The 1997 Geo Prism has been located, but we are seeking any information regarding its possible whereabouts specifically from Wednesday, October 14th at 9:30 PM through Thursday, October 15th at 10:30 AM. Investigators do not believe there is an ongoing risk to public safety.
