Would you travel back in time and kill the Baby Hitler?
The response to the poll was mixed with 42% topping with wanting to prevent a WWIII by putting out Baby Hitler. And the subscribers on Twitter went insane – it certainly helped a relatively slow Friday afternoon pick a few pace.
A Dear Reader poll posted to the magazine’s Twitter account Friday went viral with the question: “If you could go back and kill Hitler as a baby, would you do it?”
The graphic exhibits that forty two per cent of the viewers responded with “Sure”, 30 per cent with “No”, and 28 per cent are “Not Certain”. Twenty-eight percent said they were unsure whether they would kill a baby or not. Typically, that group is tasked with asking people about things like their household income and age, but Silverstein said he wanted to use them to ask questions that are “a little more offbeat, and peculiar and personal”. Every week, the magazine publishes one “Dear Reader” question from the survey and the results. The editor added that it was a fun way to get a closer sense of the type of the readers the magazine had.
We here at Mediaite love you very, very much. Why? The responses reveal how dumb and foolish this question is, and the responsive social internet seems to agree. The reactions on Twitter ranged from the ridiculous to the intense.
