LG Watch Urbane 2 vs. Motorola Moto 360
The LG Watch Urbane 2 packs a Snapdragon 400 processor, which is what we see in most smartwatches today. However, the device does a lot more when running Android. So it begs the question – which device is better? The Apple Watch comes with either a 1.5-inch screen or a 1.65-inch display. Motorola is billing the first two as made for men and the third for women, however women with larger wrists could consider a larger device, as men with smaller wrists could consider the smaller device. Fans of these devices now have tons of options to choose from. The body comes in either gold, black or silver.
The 2nd gen of the Moto 360 has been pretty well-received, with its variety of customizable options, specifically the choice to make it a men’s watch or a women’s watch (but if you hate gendering devices, then that’s not so good news for you).
All the information gathered is presented in a good-looking, easy-to-read format within the Moto Body app on the watch itself, with more useful information also presented via the Moto Body app on your smartphone including graphs and goals. There are many models and designs out there and one of them is the LG Watch Urbane 2. The processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz. The LG Watch Urbane 2 is an elegant smartwatch that comes with different colors of straps. While the LG Watch Urbane 2 offered a 480×480 resolution translating to a 348 ppi pixel density, the Moto 360 2 only delivers 360×325 resolution with 223 ppi pixel density.
Overall, both smartwatches are very well designed. It comes down to taste: the Motorola watch looks classier while Samsung’s smart timepiece has a sportier flare.
– 1.38 inch display 480 x 480 / 348ppi. However, the display has a better resolution at 360 x 360 pixels. It’s also is more crisp with a density of 302 ppi.
The metal link bracelets are available within Moto Maker where it’s also possible to change the bezel surrounding the display to a micro cut finish rather than smooth, in any of the three colours available for each model. Has it done enough with the Moto 360 (2015) to get ahead of the game, or does the disappointment return for the second time? Like the original, the new Moto 360 is also IP67 rated, though, so it can take a splash but not a swim.
While the Motorola watch has Samsung beat when it comes to processing, the two smartwatches tie in the RAM and storage department, featuring 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage each. Count your steps, monitor your heart rate, measure resting and active calories burned and this new Moto will analyse your averages after a couple of weeks. Users who prefer a round dial will go for Moto 360 while those who don’t mind chunkier sides will opt for the Apple Watch, in terms of design. There is also an optical heart-rate sensor on board, as we mentioned previously, but no Global Positioning System.
One feature that’s important to consider is a watch’s water and dust rating, which could definitely help for those into activities like swimming. Both devices are completely different in terms of design and software. The 46mm version has a 400mAh battery, while the 42mm owns a 300mAh juicer. This is likely due to how the software handles battery, combined with the fact that the Gear S2 features a smaller display. According to Motorola, the 46mm Moto 360 will last two days and the 42mm model will last a day and a half.
There are two watch face sizes (42mm and 46mm) and three band sizes (16mm, 20mm and 22mm) to target a more focused audience. The Moto 360 runs on Google’s Android Wear OS while the Apple Watch runs on Apple’s own software for wearables. The LG Watch Urbane 2 doesn’t need to be paired with a mobile device in order to function at full parameters.
You pay a bit extra for it, but such a strap makes the new Moto 360 feel more plush, while also adding to the stylishness of it.
LG’s latest watch stands out from numerous devices available because it allows cellular connectivity. If reports are anything to go by, Moto X Pure Edition (2015) will be the first Motorola device to get Android Marshmallow update. Users can also choose between the 16 watch faces of the LG Watch Urbane 2, so customization is not a problem with this gadget.
