Wiig ‘bummed out’ by Ghostbusters backlash
For her part, Wiig said she was puzzled by the criticism since “we’re really honoring those movies”.
Back in April, one of the cast members of “Ghostbusters 3” sent her message out to all the critics.
The director of the reboot also shared his thoughts about the feedback he has been receiving on social media.
Wiig touched on the controversial issue surrounding the advancements made from women in Hollywood, especially female comedians, and how their anatomy clouds their careers. Despite the film’s low budget, the reviews seem to have been overwhelmingly positive, at least according to the trailer.

Paul Feig, who is directing the reboot, had a similar experience after the film was announced.

Chris Hemsworth plays the male equivalent of Annie Potts’ secretary Janine, while Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Akyroyd, and Sigourney Weaver will all make cameos.
“I hope it’s terrific”.
“I figure it’s a few wacked-out teenager”, he said.
Starring Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy, Wiig was reportedly upset the film was causing so much unhappiness to fans. “Just put in my (Twitter) address and look at the things that are addressed to me any day”.
