Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin expected to play Sunday
Maclin was hurt in last week’s loss in Minnesota. Albert Wilson has the next-most receptions among wide receivers with eight, and rookie Chris Conley has been the next-most productive with 91 yards receiving. Fortunately, for those inclined to roll with Maclin this week, the Chiefs kick off at 1 p.m. DeVito is still going through the league’s concussion protocol. Maclin returned to practice on Friday after missing the first two days of practice this week because of a concussion.
Conley, on the other hand, is more of a stash in deeper leagues.
Maclin is their leading receiver with 39 catches for 531 yards and a touchdown. It’s a long season and it’s important that he keeps working the way he’s working. Running backs Charcandrick West and Knile Davis have yet to emerge as reliable running backs for the Chiefs.
Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali is also expected to play Sunday. It isn’t a huge chance, but it’s a chance nonetheless, and this opportunity to win won’t feasibly exist if he can’t play.
The Chiefs are also desperate in the sense that they’re a one-win team, after being often projected to win the AFC West. Five games behind the Denver Broncos-who are on a bye-they have to turn this thing around if they’re to have any hope this year.
As soon as the Chiefs Friday injury report is made available, we will pass it along to you in its entirety. Just about everyone has already stuck a fork in this team, and a short-term fork for Week 7 would be in order if their best receiver isn’t able to play.
