British Royal couple add glamour to Spectre premiere
James Bond star Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes and cast including Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux and Naomie Harris will all walk the carpet at the Royal Albert Hall.
Wearing a black tuxedo, with a poppy pinned on its left side, Craig spent time signing autographs for fans.
Spectre’s M said: “Great stunts, it’s very well crafted, it’s brilliantly made”.
Seydoux has gone on to say, however, that she doesn’t consider herself a Bond girl by any means. “There’s not much room for James Bond at home”.
The James Bond franchise has retained its enduring popularity due to its ability to consistently reinvent itself and Mendes, who has also directed hits such as the stunning American Beauty and Road to Perdition, has been responsible for taking the series a step further again, keeping it as fresh as ever even after 24 films.
Other stars of the movie include Ralph Fiennes and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott, alongside returning Miss Moneypenny Naomie Harris and returning Q, Ben Whishaw.
Royal and A-listers came out in force for the new Bond movie world premiere.
“Mendes said he was delighted that the public were also getting to see the film”. He didn’t disappoint them.
While Craig has trumped antagonists Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) from “Casino Royale” and Silva (Javier Bardem) from “Skyfall”, he faces yet another enemy; watch 007 get physically outmatched by “Spectre’s” Mr. Hinx played by Dave Bautista. I’m really proud of it. We sweated blood over it for two years.
So who knows whether Spectre will be Craig’s last Bond, but one thing’s for sure – Bond isn’t going anywhere.
When it comes to world premieres, nobody does it better than 007.
Trailers have shown action-packed scenes typical of Bond movies as 007 uncovers the shady Spectre organization, and its dark link to villain Franz Oberhauser, played by Oscar victor Christoph Waltz.
The film, which is the 24th in the film installment, is the third James Bond film to be selected for a Royal Family Performance.
Earlier this month, he told Time Out magazine that he would “rather slash [his] wrists” than star in another Bond film.
“That was a lovely feeling that they would trust me. I’m just like everybody else”.
Speaking to Rick Edwards from London’s Royal Albert Hall, Daniel said: “It’s fantastic to see everyone out tonight”.
Spectre was shot at Pinewood Studios and filmed on location in London, Mexico City, Rome and Tangier and Erfoud, in Morocco.
It’s a shady organisation last referred to in 1971’s Diamond’s Are Forever, in which Sean Connery played 007.
