Canada elects pro-LGBT Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Earlier this year, the Harper Government dissolved Parliament and passed the most regressive, anti-worker, anti-union piece of legislation, threatening to destroy collective bargaining rights for unions across Canada and attacking hard working middle class families.

Mr Trudeau’s supporters have been sharing a picture of the young Prime Minister from 1997, when he was a snowboard instructor at the Whistler-Blackcomb resort in British Columbia, Canada.

The new prime minster has reportedly informed US President Barack Obama of his decision following the victory of Liberals in the recent election.

“Canada is a member of the Group of Seven and as a result, it has a particular role to play in terms of providing leadership on climate change issues”, United Nations spokesman Farhan Haq said.

Equally, Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau respected the voters by showing up at a subway station in Montreal to shake hands and say thank you to voters the very first day after the election.

They just decided he was in fact ready to be prime minister.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony, has offered his congratulations to the new Government of Canada, and Prime Minister Trudeau.

Polls for more than three quarters of the seats in Canada’s elections are starting to report after closing down in provinces such as Ontario and Quebec – where the election could be decided. Enbridge’s Northern Gateway pipeline would stretch from Alberta to the Pacific Coast, carrying oil for export on the coast of British Columbia. If the region is to engage Canada and be part of the new foreign policy agenda of the new government, then it must have a constructive agenda which could be built around a new approach to the mothballed trade agreement with Canada. Much is made about the “niceness” of Canadians.

Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper faces a tough re-election battle against front-runner Justin Trudeau. However, Harper’s security policies and increasingly antagonistic stance targeted towards various communities in the country left a large number of Canadians bitter and wanting change at the top level.

I am sure that Liberals are rejoicing across the country this week and that most, if not all, New Democrats and Conservatives are bemoaning their misfortune.
