Gran Turismo Sport announced for PlayStation 4
GT Academy and GT Vision will also continue to be part of the series.
The game sounds like it’s pretty far along, because beta testing is set to start in early 2016.
It’s called Gran Turismo Sport, and it seems to be nearly like a reboot of sorts for the franchise. Obviously, that did not happen. Two FIA championships will run in the game – the Nation’s Cup, in which you represent your country, and the Manufacturer Fan’s Cup, where you’ll play for your favorite auto company. Well it looks like the iconic Sony franchise is done hiding, as the next chapter in that racing series was revealed at the Paris Games Week Sony press conference.
The official announcement explains that “Building on its legacy as the most realistic and accessible driving simulator, GT Sport has partnered with the FIA to push the boundaries of racing games“. Virtual reality (VR) support for the series has been long rumoured for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD), and today that support has also been confirmed.
