Adam Sandler Rides in With ‘The Ridiculous 6′ Trailer
Today, though, the first trailer for the Netflix film has arrived on the Internet.
Netflix dropped the new Ridiculous 6 trailer on YouTube.
The official synopsis of the movie reads: “When his long-lost outlaw father returns, Tommy “White Knife” Stockburn goes on an adventure-filled journey across the Old West with his five brothers”.
Ridiculous 6, with its humble beginnings as a racist screenplay nearly entirely reliant on Native American stereotypes, is practically stacked with the usual Sandler crimes, though funneled through the Netflix format for a particularly bleak hint at the future of American comedy depression to come.
“The movie has ridiculous in the title for a reason: because it is ridiculous”. Sandler has since called it a “misunderstanding”. It’s a pro-Indian movie. “So hopefully when people see it – whoever was offended on set and walked out, I hope they realize that, and that’s it. It was kinda taken out of context”. The rest of the six band together and start a gang – and at a few point realize they are all the sons of the same man. The star-studded cast includes the likes of Taylor Lautner, Steve Zahn, Will Forte, Terry Crews, and, of course, Rob Schneider. But mostly, the movie is your typical Sandler joint, a big broad comedy, with big broad characters, with a typically juvenile tone.
Ridiculous 6, which was directed by Frank Coraci and produced by Happy Madison Productions, hits the streaming service on December. 11.
