Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport packs 450hp twin turbo V8
The Sport model also includes a muscular front fascia with larger air intakes for a more commanding presence on the road.
2016 will mark the 22nd year that Audi has produced the A8, and they’re bringing it to market at full power with the A8 L 4.0T Sport.
Compared to the previous model year, the new version adds 15 bhp (11 kW) to its twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine which is now capable of developing a total of 450 bhp (336 kW).
As far as technology goes, the 4.0T Sport comes with everything you’d expect from a luxury sedan these days, including a head-up display, Audi’s so-called side assist which helps drivers change lanes and monitors traffic around the auto, and last but not least, available adaptive cruise control. On the rear of the vehicle, the lower bumper has been reshaped for a more dynamic appearance.
In addition to that, a set of 20-inch five spoke wheels with all-season tyres are now standard for this variant.
Buyers can also opt for 21-inch 5-arm wheels with summer performance tires.
Inside, the standard Executive and Luxury packages consist ventilated 22-way Comfort front seats with massage function, wrapped in Valcona leather and accentuated with diamond pattern stitching. As things stand right now, the A8 L 4.0T Sport makes do with 450bhp and 444lb-ft of torque which gets reflected on the tracks via an eight speed automatic gearbox and the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Optional items that customers can request for in the A8 include driving assistance systems such as Audi side assist with pre sense rear.
Canadian pricing or availability hasn’t been detailed just yet, but the 2016 A8 L 4.0T Sport starts at US$90,500 south of the border.
