Great Britain’s men’s gymnastics team qualifies for 2016 Olympic Games
The Games were hardly a given in Britain, which went a century between Olympic team medals until a stunning bronze in London three years ago.
“I have been involved in gymnastics for more than 15 years first as a gymnast and now as a coach”, she said. “I want to be on that team'”.
“I know what I need to do to push on and will be working hard before any finals”.
They will carry out a range of duties across event operations, media and communications and competition management, as well as being the face of the city during the 10-day event which runs at the SSE Hydro until Friday. So with everyone uniting and coming together as Great Britain it’s really exciting. “I have done a lot of training and on the day there are a few nerves but as I settled in it got better”. That gives you a boost definitely and it’s a big inspiration. “Gymnastics is my life and I love getting involved and helping out volunteering”.
“For me, it’s all about the experience”.
“Personally, I don’t feel like a have loads of pressure on myself”.
The championships started on October. 23 in Glasgow.
The Brazilian women were ninth in Worlds qualifying, so they will have to compete at the test event in a bid to qualify a full team for Rio 2016.
The popular Yorkshireman feared the setback could harm his chances of making the plane to Rio and always stressed that selection for this month’s World Championships would be make or break.
Wilson shrugged off his disappointment, pointing to the pursuit of another team medal as the priority.
“I’m just so happy from previous year with the injury and everything”.
Uchimura will also be striving to help lift his team past longstanding World champion China.
“The World Championships – probably bar the Olympic Games – is the biggest competition for a gymnast ever”, said Wilson.
Team GB gymnast, Olympic and Commonwealth Games medallist Dan Purvis said: “The home crowd make a huge difference and definitely add that extra percentage of motivation and inspire us to excel”.
“We’re all just excited to get back out there in the team final”.

But as long as I can stay fit and healthy and stay away from injuries then I would love to stay on for another two Olympic cycles.
