Daniel Craig shuts down reporter in Spectre interview
Spectre is released in United Kingdom cinemas on Monday, October 26.
After an exclusive visit to the set of Spectre, the new movie of the saga, Craig was asked several times if this movie was his last as James Bond.
It’s possible that it will be the final film with Craig as Bond, so fans should experience the film in theaters while they can.
Although he’s been married to Rachel Weisz since 2011, Craig says back in his dating days he once had to stand up to a guy who pinched his girlfriend’s behind.
“Nothing”, was his delayed response when asked what James Bond can teach us about our day-to-day lives. “Spectre” is the fourth installation of Craig playing Bond and from the promos, the English actor is in fine form.
When the interviewer pointed out Bond’s “way with the ladies”, Craig interrupted, “But let’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist”. “A lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain kind of danger and never sticks around for too long”.
“To quote Ian Fleming himself “Bond has always been a gambler”, but even we were surprised with just how much Bond has amassed over the twenty three films. I went up for the gig and didn’t get it!” he said. We’re talking about Monica Bellucci, for heaven’s sake.
The actor might still be on the fence about continuing the role, but one thing is for sure. This is certainly a less extreme response than the one he gave Time Out earlier this month, when he said he’d, “rather break this glass and slash my wrists” than sign on for another movie.
In a separate interview with The BBC, he admitted that his enthusiasm (or, in this case, the exact opposite) for the franchise varies from day to day. Told by the presenter that he was made for the role he said: “Thank you, that’s what I think, but what can you do?” I just want to get home. This is what’s going on at the moment.
Catch Karen Koster’s interview with the star-studded cast including Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris and Irishman Andrew Scott tonight at 8.30pm on TV3.
Today, Craig responded to the fanboy questions posed by Red Bulletin with the same frank and abrupt tone he’s known to adopt during interviews.
We wish the adorable pair good luck for the awesome relationship they share and for all their future endeavors.
The first six clips from the 24th James Bond adventure, Spectre, have been released.
