Future Motorola Flagships To Feature ShatterShield Technology
You don’t get all of the colors and material options (only a soft-touch plastic) from Moto Maker like you do with the Droid Turbo 2, but you can still personalize it with swappable back covers.
Today, Motorola’s newest phone, the Droid Turbo 2, will be available to purchase in all Verizon stores and on the Verizon website. The Moto X Force does bring that same shatter-proof display found on the DROID Turbo 2.
With a durable and customizable design, superior specs and features, unequalled drop protection, and long-lasting battery life, there’s no reason why anyone wouldn’t go for the DROID Turbo 2; except perhaps, as with other DROID models, the DROID Turbo 2 is exclusive to the Verizon Wireless network in the United States. Well, not entirely brand-new, as the MAXX 2 is just a renamed version of the Moto X Play, which has been available in Europe and Canada for a while.
Inside, the Moto X Force will seem pretty familiar.
And – this is starting to sound like a bad informercial – wait, there’s more: The Turbo 2 also has a 48-hour battery, and if you’re under a time crunch, you can charge your phone with 13 hours of battery in 15 minutes using TurboPower.
Motorola introduced the Moto X Force handset on Thursday with a short and simple, but poignant video that highlights the five-layer protective display technology.
And if you were anxious about spills, the phone is treated with a water-resistant coating…but we’re guessing that if you drop it in the toilet (hey, it happens) you’re out of luck. Pricing also wasn’t announced, but it’s likely to be similar to what we have here in the USA with the DROID Turbo 2, which is $628 off contract or unlocked. Where they take the iPhone 6S, a Galaxy S6 and the Moto X Force and drop them all on concrete. Motorola has worked on the display for three years, and is so confident that the 5.4-inch quad-HD display won’t shatter that it’s offering a four-year fix guarantee for any accidental damage.
Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed at its durability and ruggedness.
