Canadian Police Issue Warrant For Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon
Toronto police have issued arrest warrants for two Pan Am Games athletes, but haven’t said what the athletes are accused of, where they’re from, or their names.
It’s then alleged that the two men went into the bedroom and sexually assaulted the victim, who then woke up. They are both charged with sexual assault.
Police have maintained an Ontario-wide warrant for another member of Brazil’s Pan Am Games team, 27-year-old water polo player Thye Mattos Ventura Bezerra, in connection with a sexual assault alleged to have taken place on July 16.
“You could say it’s frustrating”, said Beaven-Desjardins.
The arrest warrants have been issued for Lucas Domingues Piazon, aged 21, and Andrey Da Silva Ventura, aged 22. On July 27, both men returned to Brazil with their team.
Da Silva Ventura is living in Brazil, playing for the Botafogo Football Club in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
AP quoted the department as saying the men would have to be extradited to Canada if they are to face charges.
When asked why the men were wanted on different types of warrants, Beaven-Desjardins said the decision was made by the Crown, and did not provide further details.
The group then went back to one of the women’s homes, said Insp.
Toronto police announced Thursday that arrest warrants have been issued for the two men, who were in the city through most of the month taking part in the global compeitition.
Beaven-Desjardins said investigators believe the two incidents are not related.
